Have you ever wondered what it would be like to become a Real Estate Agent? Here at Rick Fuller Realty, we have split our Real Estate Agents up into two different categories. First, we have our Listing Specialists, who specialize in helping people sell their homes. Secondly, we have our Buyers Specialists, they specialize in helping people find homes to purchase! Today we will focus on the typical workday in the life of our Listing Specialist, Sedar Husary!
Sedar Husary is an amazing Listing Specialist, who also juggles the roles of a mother, fiance, and daughter! Every Monday morning around 5:30 am Sedar makes her schedule for the week. This includes business-related tasks as well as personal, family, and other social events. After scheduling and eating breakfast comes dropping her children off at school, then the workday begins, normally around 8:30 am. Her morning tasks include emailing and following up with interested buyers and sellers, whether they are current or potential customers. Mondays and Tuesdays usually are the busiest days of the week for Sedar, catching up from the weekend and following up on any offers that may have came in. Leading into the afternoon Monday through Friday, Sedar will pick up her children from school and is available for appointments after 1:00pm. Most of her business is meeting clients needs, meeting with contractors, being on the phone alot of the time, and driving from one appointment to another.
Sedar has given some tips that have helped her out in the past and present and wanted to share them with you! There are approximately 26 people who are involved in every transaction, so time management is crucial. Your calendar is how you could best schedule your time wisely, and it means everything when you are a Listing Specialist. It is also important to know when to “stop working”, and know when to not answer the text message while you’re at the dinner table with your family. This comes with setting your expectations to your clients ahead of time. Being truthful and honest with your clients will get you far if you aren’t available at a specific time to let your clients know that ahead of time. For the first 7 years of Sedar’s career, she learned time management the hard way and put a lot of her work ahead of her family. Setting those expectations, organizing her calendar saved her and created a steady schedule for her to know when to answer the phone and when to spend some much-needed family time. Sedar started to take advantage of cancellations in her schedule and to use that time to spend with her family. Sedar highly recommends keeping your knowledge strong, by self-feeding, taking classes and watching videos to learn the most current Real Estate knowledge for her clients.
Being a part of the Rick Fuller Real Estate Team was one of the best things to happen to Sedar! The whole team carries this spirit of excellence and you will definitely see it in their communication and work!
