
The Folsom City Council is dedicated to seeing their city and its people thrive. With each member of the council working to make sure that Folsom is a place where people not only want to go but stay. Together, they work to ensure that Folsom’s residents and businesses are safe and secure while improving lives in the city for everyone. There are 5 members that make up the Folsom City Council, each one having their own duties.
The mayor of Folsom is Keri Howell. Originally from Boston, Keri moved to Sacramento and was elected to the Folsom City Council in 1998. She’s worked a number of jobs within the council, serving as vice mayor for 3 years and now has served as mayor for 3 years.
Sarah Aquino is the vice mayor of Folsom. She was a member of the Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board of Education until elected to vice mayor in 2018. She runs a life and health insurance family business and has served in the Citizens’ Advisory Committee for Folsom State Prison.
Roger Gaylord III is a city council member and has a much more varied background compared to the other members of the Folsom City Council. Roger has lived in Folsom his whole life and got his start in governing all the way back in his high school days. There he pushed for a skate park and also managed to start his own online skate shop: Solution Skates. From then on out he’s gained a number of qualifications including security and criminal justice.
Mike Kozlowski is another city council member and specializes in architecture and design. He’s been a resident of Folsom since 2005, originally coming from Chicago. Since then he’s served as the Folsom utility commissioner and as a board member for Vista Athletic Boosters. He also coaches track and field for Vista Del Lago High School.
The final city council member is Ernie Sheldon. Ernie has lived in Folsom for 32 years and most of that time he served in Parks and Recreation Commission. He’s responsible for the creation of 45 parks and recreation facilities including the much-beloved Folsom Aquatic Center. He also serves as Folsom’s vice mayor for a few years and has a Masters Degree in Management. It’s also worth noting that he served in the Air Force receiving a number of medals.
