
One of my favorite things to do especially through the summertime is to attend festivals and fun events! I always try to find ones that are local in my area, which is why below, I have listed a few popular events that are going on in Elk Grove below. Make sure to mark them on your calendar and check them out!
Oak Park Farmer’s Market

Oak Park has there weekly farmer’s market that is held every Saturday from 9am to 1pm. The Farmer’s Market starts in May and goes till October! There is a variety of vendors which means there are lots of local produce and cooked goods. Oaks Park Farmer’s Market has live music which is typically local bands and artists that are performing. There is also face painting available for the children and sometimes arts and crafts for the kiddos!
Mahogany Festival
Sacramento, CA 95817
The mahogany Festival is a music festival that is free to the community! You are able to listen to live music, and there are creative art expressions such as poetry reading. There are fun workshops and food available along with lots of vendors and a kid zone for the children to play in!
Gather: Oak Park

The second Thursday of every month from May to October, 5pm to 9pm during the warm nights is a local event called Gather: Oak Park. You are able to learn about different food cultures, learn about different kinds of art, and try different foods and beers while being outdoors and listening to live music from your local artists. Gather: Oak Park takes place off Broadway and 3rd Avenue. There is also a kids area as well!

This is a free event to the community and perfect for family and friends! This event celebrates American history and in honor of Freedom. They open the doors for opportunities with having a job fair, a health expo, and lots more! You are able to enjoy a fun parade and there are freedom rewards and film expos. There is also a soul food market court on 4th avenue!
Elders Edible Education
This is a community event for elders to learn life skills, cooking techniques, cultural history, and learn to cook lots of different recipes. They teach you recipes that would also be financially affordable that you can easily make at home. They teach you how to live more healthy and have better and healthier eating habits. The best part is this event is free and takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am-12:30pm.
